I am Dr. Yashvant Bodar, a physician shaped by rural community care, high-volume clinical settings, and health systems across India, Russia, and the United States. I am pursuing Family Medicine to care for patients across every stage of life.

01 · About
Growing up in a small village in Gujarat showed me how distance, cost, and limited resources can shape a family’s health long before they reach a clinic.
My training has taken me from medical school in Russia to a large public hospital in Ahmedabad, an independent primary care role in India, and clinical experiences in the United States. Across each setting, I learned to ask before assuming, explain plans in clear language, and adapt when the first approach does not work.
Outside medicine, you will often find me experimenting with vegetarian recipes, photographing landscapes, cityscapes, and sunsets, or tending to my garden plants.

Primary Care · Brooklyn, New York
Evaluate 4–5 patients daily in a diverse urban practice, communicate laboratory and imaging results, document in eClinicalWorks, and coordinate follow-up. Direct feedback has strengthened my judgment about selective testing and communication across language and cultural differences.

Evaluated 5–6 patients daily across preventive care, chronic disease management, and geriatric medicine. Used shared decision-making for vaccine counseling, reviewed NSAID risks and alternative pain options, and presented on self-collected HPV testing.

Independently managed 10–15 patients daily from evaluation through treatment, referral, and follow-up. Built hands-on skills in wound suturing, fracture splinting, animal-bite care, ear irrigation, foreign-body removal, and cyst and lipoma excision.

Participated in daily rounds, didactics, and grand rounds; presented a lower GI bleeding case with a structured differential and workup; practiced focused examinations in the simulation lab; and observed sepsis care, antibiotic de-escalation, and discharge planning.

Evaluated approximately 15 patients daily in resource-limited rural primary care and rotated through a high-volume tertiary hospital. Managed heat-related illness, supported maternal and newborn care, led diabetes and hypertension screening, counseled vaccine-hesitant parents, and helped low-income patients access treatment.

Medicine has also meant organizing care, making screening easier to reach, and helping other learners move forward.
Rural access
Helped convert a village school into a temporary clinic during the COVID surge, caring for more than 80 patients and coordinating hospital admission for over 25 who needed higher-level care.

Coordinated 15 physicians and 30 volunteers to provide free care and medications for 300 patients in one day, including more than 40 ECGs and X-rays.
